Voor de tweede maal op rij was het parcours gelegen op de Ranch van de legendarische Country zangeres “Loretta Lynn” het decor voor de AMA Nationals. In de 250 klasse won Dylan Ferrandis vorige week beide manches en daardoor kwam de Fransman dan ook als grote favoriet aan de start van deze wedstrijd. Alléén gooide het weer even alle kaarten door elkaar, een enorm onweer in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee maakte van het parcours één grote modderpoel.
In de eerste manche was het alvast Alex Martin die een goede start nam. De Suzuki piloot ging echter al snel in de fout, waarna Shane McElrath de leiding overnam, maar ook hij maakte wat mee waardoor uiteindelijk de leiding in de handen viel van RJ Hampshire. De man op Husqvarna hield de hele manche zijn hoofd erbij, daarnaast hield zijn motor het ook de hele manche vol waardoor hij de leiding in de eerste manche niet meer uit handen gaf. Zelfs een opkomende Dylan Ferrandis kon RJ Hampshire niet uit zijn concentratie halen, de Fransman zou uiteindelijk als tweede finishen voor Jeremy Martin, Cameron McAdoo en Rookie Carson Mumford.
Bij de tweede manche wist Alex Martin opnieuw een sterke start te nemen. Ditmaal maakte de Suzuki piloot geen fouten en zo leidde hij de tweede reeks van start tot finish in deze moeilijke omstandigheden. Jongere broer Jeremy Martin finishte tweede en haalde zo ook meteen de overal overwinning binnen met een; drie – twee scoren. Deze overal overwinning werd ook mede mogelijk gemaakt vanwege het feit dat Dylan Ferrandis ‘slechts’ als vierde finishte, dit achter Shane McElrath die als derde over de finish kwam. De top vijf werd vervolledigd door Cameron McAdoo op zijn Pro Circuit Kawasaki.
